Heather Ann Souza, 29, waived her hearing for bail and probable cause on Tuesday, court records show. Souza is charged with use of interstate facilities in the commission of murder for hire. According to a criminal complaint affidavit, Souza on Jan. 22 offered an undisclosed person — who is now a confidential police witness — $10,000 to travel to California to kill her husband as "an insurance job." The affidavit said Souza gave the witness directions to her husband's residence, instructions on how Souza wanted him killed and $332 for travel expenses.
